Hello, I'm Serhii B.verified

Dear Sir or Madam, My name is Serhii Bodrukhin, and I was born in Luhansk, Ukraine, on October 20, 1995. My partner’s name is Julia Boliukh, born in Kyiv on June 21, 1999. We are both artists with a strong background in performing arts — I am a professional French horn musician, and Julia is a trained ballet dancer. We met in 2018 during a European tour with the Kharkiv Opera Theatre, while performing in Belgium. Since then, we’ve been inseparable — sharing our professional and personal lives as artists devoted to our craft and to each other. In 2014, I was forced to flee my hometown of Luhansk due to Russian bombings and relocated to Kharkiv, where I completed my Master’s degree in music in 2021. Julia completed her Bachelor’s degree in dance in Kyiv in 2020. After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, we were evacuated along with our theatre to Lithuania on April 24th, and from there we participated in a humanitarian tour in support of Ukraine. We performed in Poland, Lithuania, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, and Austria. Despite our efforts and artistic contributions, our theatre was eventually disbanded, and we were left without support or legal protection. We then moved to the Netherlands, where we lived with a host family — a pastor’s family — until 2024. From there, we obtained legal entry to the United States, where we now reside in Austin, Texas. However, we are currently in the process of voluntary departure (self-deportation) due to political and legal complications, and we must leave the U.S. by 2026. We cannot return to Ukraine — my native city of Luhansk has been occupied by Russian forces since 2014, and the Kharkiv theatre no longer operates due to the war. Our lives have been marked by constant displacement, uncertainty, and emotional hardship. Yet we remain hopeful and motivated to rebuild our future in Europe — a future based on peace, stability, and the opportunity to continue our artistic careers. We are actively seeking a safe and stable place to live, where we can begin to rebuild our family and our lives, contribute to the community, and work toward a better future. We are fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian, and speak some Dutch as well. We hold all necessary diplomas and documentation and are ready to do everything within our power to contribute positively to the society that welcomes us. If you or your organization can offer any guidance, resources, or opportunities — we would be deeply grateful. We are open to conversation, interviews, and verification of our identity, history, and qualifications. Thank you for your time and understanding. Warm regards, Serhii Bodrukhin & Julia Boliukh
